Secrete Journal 1836-1837 Ed. and introd. by M. Armalinskii; illustrated by Aleksandr Pushkin
St. Petersburg: Retro, 2005 382 p Serie: Russkaia Potaennaia Literatura Hardcover. 10.5 x 16.5 cm ISBN: 5948550265 Language: Russian and English
This is the first bilingual Russian-English edition of the Secret Journal of 1836-1837 by Aleksandr Pushkin. Mikhail Armalinskii discovered and published this book, first in the USA and later in several other countries. Though the fact of Pushkin`s authorship is very much questioned by Pushkinists, this book is still an interesting example of the sexual folklore of the nineteenth century. According to Armalinskii, this text is translated from a French original which has been lost. The book can be used for training both oral and written skills. Includes stress marks. It is illustrated with drawings of Aleksandr Pushkin.
