Leo Tolstoi began working on this book in 1888. It was published in three different versions and under different titles: Reading List (1903), Thoughts of Wise People for Every Day (1906), and again Reading List (1908). This book combines his translations of outstanding world philosophers` thoughts with his own thoughts. Tolstoi also included in the book his calendar with thoughts and aphorisms for each day.
