[ Georgia: Ethnic cleansing of the Ossetian people]
Moscow: Evropa, 2005 147 p Serie: Evrovostok pbk. 12 x 18 cm ISBN: 5973900304 Language: Russian
This publication is named by its authors the "White book" of the ethnic cleansing of the Ossetian people by Georgia. The conflict has been smoldering for a long time. In the 1830s the Russian government gave an unambiguous verdict with regard to this matter: Georgians do not have any rights to South Ossetia. Stalin in his favorite manner of laying time-bombs on the borders between neighboring peoples sacrificed the Ossetians in favor of the Georgian SSR. According to the 1989 USSR population census there were 164,000 Ossetians living in Georgia. By 2002 only 38 thousand of them remained in Georgia. This book is a list of accusations of ethnic cleansing over the last 68 years made by the Osetians against the Georgians.
