Lev Anninskii, literary critic and historian, wrote a history of several generations of his family. His ancestors on his father`s side were Cossacks from Pugachev`s time, residing in the Tagonrog region. They left a chronicle of their family to Lev`s father Aleksandr Ivanov-Anninskii. Aleksandr worked at the Russian film studio Mosfilm as a literary editor with many talented film directors, including Eizenshtein and Tisse in the production of Aleksandr Nevskii. Ivanov-Anninskii died at the front in 1941. The family history, written by his son Lev, covers the whole twentieth century: 1904-2004.
