The island had the own army, fleet, military tribunal, intelligence and counterintelligence services. The book includes seven stories about Kolyma. The author`s father was an inhabitant of this land. The preface to this book contains an essay about the soviet history of the island by A.I. Shirokov. Afterword is by Siberian writer G. Prashkevich.
