This book continues the previous book: Krymskotatarskaia Problema: 1944 – 1991 (Simferopol`: Odzhak, 2004. Available). Crimean Tartars were deported in 1944 as potential military traitors from the place of their origin, the Crimean peninsula, to Asian republics. The complicated political status of the Crimea, now under Ukrainian jurisdiction and inhabited mainly by Russians, makes the repatriation of the immigrants from Asia precarious. The current book is a collection of articles on the history of Crimea and the Crimean Tatars in the 19th-20th centuries: historic studies, archive publications, current writings, presentations. Also available on this subject: Kurtiev, Refat. Kalendarnye Obriady Krymskikh Tatar (1996); Krymskie Tatary: Problemy Repatriatsii (1997); Roslavtseva, L.I. Odezhda Krymskikh Tatar Kontsa XVIII - Nachala XX Veka: Istoriko-Etnograficheskoe Issledovanie (2000).
