Natal`ia Konchalovskaia is a granddaughter of publisher Petr Konchalovskii and notable Russian artist Vasilii Surikov, daughter of another great artist Petr Konchalovskii, and wife of poet Sergei Mikhalkov. She is the mother of two talented film directors Nikita Mikhalkov and Andron Konchalovskii. Just this information is enough to make this book quite interesting. But N. Konchalovskaia had her own exciting life: she met and was friends with many talented people of the twentieth century, and she translated and wrote articles about them.
