Moscow: Molodaia Gvardiia, 2004 ISBN: 52350272800 Language: RussianThis is a new biography of Prince Mikhail Semenovich Vorontsov (1782-1856), a hero of the Patriotic War of 1812; a participant in practically all the Russian wars in the first half of the nineteenth century, including the Caucasian wars against Shamil (1840s); Governor General of southern Russia: Novorussia, Bessarabia, and the Caucasus. Special attention is paid to Vorontsov`s relations with Aleksandr Pushkin. The author gives a new explanation of the conflict between Pushkin and Vorontsov, which is different from the one widely accepted in literature. Bibliography.
