The ballerina Natal`ia Ignat`eva-Trukhanova (1885-?), the daughter of a Russian actor and a French women, is more famous in France where she danced in 1905-1937 than in Russia where she is known only as the wife of General Igant`ev, (1877-1954), soldier and diplomat, the author of his memoirs Fifty Years of Service. Trukhanova was friends with Diagilev, Shaliapin, and many other famous artists. Her memoirs, written more than fifty years ago, are published in this book for the first time.
