This book is a collection of documents about the role the NKVD played in organizing, training, and directly participating in the partisan movement before and during WWII. The NKVD took part in the main operations of many partisan groups: espionage, diversions, military operations, and counterintelligence. The author collected legal documents, both Russian and international, which regulated the activity of partisans during the war. This historic study is based on numerous sources, including partisan reports and NKVD-NKGB orders related to the partisan movement. Most of the documents are published for the first time in this book. Aleksei Popov is a military historian. Bibliography.
