This next volume in the Military History Series "Soldier" is about Russian schools of military cadets (infantry officers). These schools were formed as one of the steps in the military reforms of 1861-1874. The very first ones were founded by the Romanov imperial family in 1863 and named after them: Konstatin and Pavel in St. Petersburg, and Aleksandr in Moscow. Since 1864 the students were also called junkers. The book tells about the system of education, list of all schools by their division, uniforms, small arms, insignia and banners.
