Grzegorz W. Kolodko, author of many books and articles, led the economic reforms in Poland in 1994-1997 as minister of finance and vice-prime minister. He called the social system which appeared after these reforms "post-socialist capitalism". This new form is very much different from the economic and social systems of developed countries. This book summarizes Kolodko`s theoretical views on and practical approach to system transformation that former socialist countries have gone through since 1991. The monograph contains comparative data on twenty-six post-socialist countries in Europe and in the territory of the FSU from 1889-2000. Summary in English (pp. 178-181).
