Hymnography and heortology

This is a new edition of the book first published in Paris in 1964. It is a course of lectures given by Archbishop Kiprian Kern (1899-1960) in 1945 at the Theological Institute (Pravoslavnyi Bogoslovskii Institut v Parizhe). Hymnography deals with Church hymns and their classification, the history of their writing and their writers. Heortology is the part of liturgics which studies the history of Christian holidays, their evolution, calendar, and their history.
