Nikolai Liubimov (1912-1992) was the first translator of many masterpieces of world literature, primarily from Italian, Spanish, and French. The current second volume covers 1933-1953: arrest, prison, exile, return to Moscow, WWII, arrest of his mother, the beginning of literary activity, portraits of well and less known writers, details of social and literary life of the 1930-1940s. The first part of his memoir is also available. Volume three is to be published.
