This is the first comprehensive review about deposits of gems in the Transbaikal Area, including the Republic of Buryatia and Chita Oblast. The monograph contains the history of gem deposit discovery, research and exploitation, description of geological conditions of localization and formation, forecast of resources of the most important kinds of raw materials, and their rational use. The typomorphic and gemnological properties of beryl are studied.
