Boris Piotrovskii (1908-1990) was a great Russian archeologist and art historian, the director of the largest Russian national art museum, the Hermitage (1964-1990). This book is the second book of his memoirs about his life and work. This volume covers his trips to Iraq (1959), Sudan (1963), Japan (1966), India (1964), Turkey (1973), Jordan (1976), Mexico (1976), Australia (1979), and Columbia (1979). Most of his trips were connected to either exhibitions of Russian art abroad or foreign exhibitions in the Hermitage Museum. His reports about trips are full of unique information and professional details interesting to historians of art and archaeologists.
