There are two types of reindeer in Yakutia: wild and domestic. This monograph depicts the economic situation in reindeer husbandry and hunting. The existing collisions between wild and domestic deer are considered. The number, dynamics, sex and age structure, distribution, seasonal migrations, feeding, range use peculiarities, and reproduction of the tunga reindeer population are covered. The authors indicate the methods for hunting improvement and reindeer population management. Bibliography.
