This book is the most complete academic publication of non-ritual lyric songs of the Russian populations of Siberia and the Far East. It is the fourteenth volume of the series Pamiatniki Fol`klora Narodov Sibiri i Dal`nego Vostoka. The enormous work over 150 years by collectors of several generations of philologists, ethnographers, historians, musicologists, and lovers of songs, from the 1830s to the 1980s, has been generalized. There are 520 song texts and 45 scores. Primarily traditional folk songs have been selected for the book.
