This monograph is about the history of Russian traditional iconography of Acathists. Acathistus hymns and the cycle of visual compositions was created in honor of the liberation Constantinople from Persian and the Avars in 626. The author discusses textological and artistic problems of studying the Acathist, the iconographic tradition of its painting, and its structure.
