This book studies the social activity of workers, the Intelligentsia, peasantry, various political parties and organizations operating during the period of the October Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War (1918-1920). Numerous aspects of the social, cultural, and political life of Siberia during “military Communism”(1919-1921), “NEP”(1922-1929), and 1960-1980-s are analyzed here. The sources include archive and published documents some of which (as, for example, materials of OGPU) are being brought into circulation for the first time.
