Gagauz people-Case study

This paper studies the goals of economically motivated migrant workers of Gagauz ethnic background from the southern regions of Moldova. Based on analysis of four focus groups, the authors discuss causes and directions of migrations, occupations, incomes, and expenditures of guest workers. Synchronic and diachronic aspects of Moldavian panorama of labor migrations, their positive and negative implications, their impact on personality, family, ethnos, and society of the Gagauz are analyzed in this paper.
