This book is about the Russian poet and translator Arsenii Tarkovskii (1907-1989), his family and his son Andrei, the famous film director, and one hundred years of the genealogy of this family. Andrei Tarkovskii (1932-1986) became very popular after his film "Andrei Rublev". In addition to biographies of Arsenii and Andrei, this book also includes memoirs of Andrei’s first wife Irma Raush, writers Andrei Bitov and Grigorii Pomerants, artist Mikhail Romadin, theater director Mark Rozovskii, and the history of the banning of the film Andrei Rublev from the archive of the film studio Mosfilm. The author, Paola Volkova, has been the director of the Andrei Tarkovskii Foundation since 1989.
