This is the last book of the Russian historian, critic, philosopher, and the leading rightist writer, Vadim Kozhinov (1930- 2001). His understanding of Russian history may be disputable, but it is always original and never boring. Kozhinov, a student of M.M. Bakhtin, was trying to continue his tradition in studying Russian literature and history. He never belonged to the mainstream either in the soviet period or in the last decade. This book contains his critical and historical articles written and published in 1959-1999. Kozhinov is also the author of the epic three volume publication History of Russia: View from Today.
