This monograph gives a comprehensive report on the data, both available in literature and the new ones, concerning the frequency distribution of genes and phenotypes for all the genetic markets studied in the human population of Russia and contiguous countries. Starting from the first results on the AB0 blood groups and color blindness obtained at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as currently available data on the variety of erythrocyte and leucocyte antigens, enzymes, and blood proteins, up to the first characteristics of DNA polymorphism in the population of Russia and her neighbors. All this information, accumulated over dozens of years, is presented in this book in a form which can be readily applied in the field of human genetics, anthropology, medicine, and other related sciences.
