This collected monograph concludes the series of studies on international relations in the Balkan Peninsula from the middle 18th century up to World War I, published by the Institut of Slavic Studies (Moscow). Based on the newest sources and vast literature, this fundamental work investigates one of the greatest geopolitical catastrophes of the twentieth century: 33 countries participants, ten million dead and twenty-six million wounded. It contains a detailed explication of the main events and the main participants of the war.
