The title of this book is a quote from A. Pushkin. The time spent by Aleksandr Pushkin in the Lyceum of Tsarskoe Selo (1811-1817) was, according to the poet, the most precious period of his life. This wonderful school gave to Russian culture not only Pushkin, but also many other people who became the glory of the country. This collection reviews the main pedagogical ideas of the end of 18th - early 19th, describes various aspects of education and bringing up youth in the Imperial lyceum: curriculum, statutes, school architecture, faculty.
