This monograph discusses materials collected at Sopka 2, an extraordinarily rich archaeological site in the Baraba forest-steppe area in the Novosibirsk region. It contains available materials in full and comments on the whole spectrum of problems of their interpretation. A test made by the author and his colleagues allow them to conclude that they have identified a new culture. The second volume will focus on the burial sites attributed to the Krotov culture.
