This book analyzes the economic situation in the regions of Russia, the structure of regional power and models of the regulation of the political situation. It also focuses on the relationship between type of political elite and its political orientation. The authors` analysis is based on surveys with administrative and economic leaders in the Rostov and Perm regions of Russia in 1999.
