Akhmatova`s collection

The fifth volume of UCLA Slavic Studies commemorates the 40th anniversary of Anna Akhmatova`s death. The first part of the collection, In Memoriam, contains previously unpublished diaries and memoirs about Akhmatova and about her funeral (I.N. Punina, V.P. Mikhailov, A.V. Smirnova-Iskander, etc.). Part two includes new studies of the life and works of this great poet by D. Macfadyen, V. Musatov, P. Poberezkina, R. Timenchuk and others. It also publishes new archival documents and correspondence about publications of Akhmatova`s works between L. Chukovskaia and V. Zhirmunskii. The volume ends with photographs of Akhmatova`s early publications and her funeral. Bibliographic references.
