This book is the story of the old Russian family of industrialists and their factories in the Urals, Tula, and in Siberia. Nikita Demidov(1656-1725) and his son Akinfii (1678-1745), the owner of mines and metallurgical works, started his business in Urals under the protection of Russian Cossacks. In the time of Peter the Great`s reign the Demidov plants manufactured about 1/3 of Russian metal.
