Aleksandr Veselovskii (1838-1906), a Russian historian of literature, a professor of St. Petersburg University, was one of the first who started to study mythological and folklore plots, which later were called archetypal. This collection is based on materials of the international conference (2006). The first chapter includes materials about his academic activities.
