This is an illustrated biographical dictionary of Moscow architects based on materials of the State A.V. Shchusev Museum of Architecture (Moscow). The current volume covers 1700-1820s. The previous volume, published in 1998, covered the following period 1830-1917. According to the contributors to this volume, the architectural merits of Moscow of the 18th-19th centuries are underestimated in public and professional opinion. Many architectural works of art were destroyed in the soviet period. This dictionary allows one to know and appreciate the architecture of old Moscow and of old Russia as well.
