This is the most complete biography of the first Russian publisher, editor, book designer and printer, deacon Ivan Fedorov (1510?-1583) who published the first book in Russian, Books of the Apostles, in 1564. Fedorov`s alphabet was a pattern for many other alphabets published in Moscow, Kiev, Vilno, and Mogilev in the 16th-17th centuries. Fedorov used 6 different fonts: four Slavic and two Greek.
