This monograph analyzes low effect of pure market methods in housing industry in Russia. Bessonava offers a solution to the housing problem based not on abstract free market but rather as a transformation of the soviet model with help of market methods. The author develops a new view on the economic development of Russia and the original theory of "razdatochnaia ekonomika" which can be used as a framework for understanding the past, Soviet, and current economic and social system in Russia. The term "razdatok" can be very approximately translated as distribution. The current book continues Bessonova`s previous works and focuses mainly on today`s economy. She explains why the classic market economy cannot exist in Russia.
