The book by the Russian philologist M.N. Speranskii (1863-1938) studies of cryptographic systems of the south-Slavic and Russian written monuments. The author describes in detail various types of cryptography used in the literary monuments: acrostic, reverse writing and pictograph, ligature writing, numerical cryptography, system of changes and deformed pattern, as well as various cryptographic combinations. The author shows that Slavic cryptographic systems were influenced by Greek-Byzantine and partly by Latin systems, which in their turn were affected by oriental ones.(0.175 kg.)
