The book is the third volume of the first unnumbered collective works of Georgii Demidov (1908-1987), a famous Russian physicist, a pupil of Lev Landau, political prisoner and writer. The author served a sentence as a Trotskyite for fourteen years (1938-1952) in the Kolyma region of Siberia. All his archives were confiscated in 1980, and returned to Demidov`s daughter with the help of the secretary of the Central Committee Aleksandr Iakovlev in 1987.
