The Zlatoust Library is a series of adapted, illustrated texts by modern Russian writers for non-native Russian students for five levels of proficiency and vocabulary: first (about 760 words); second (1,300); third (1,500); fourth (2,300); fifth (3,000). This issue is for students of the third level. It includes several stories by Alexandr Pushkin. In addition to the literary works, the volume includes comments, self-check questions, color and black-and-white illustrations, and a list of words beyond the lexical minimum.
