С. Петербург: Искусство-Спб, 2002 269 p pbk. 14 x 20.5 cm ISBN: 5210015556Philosophical linguistics, or linguistic philosophy, is understood in this monograph as an integral part of the Russian philosophical tradition. In the works of such original thinkers as K.S. Aksakov (1817-1860) and N.P. Nekrasov (1828-1908) the language is interpreted as the incarnation of the national spirit and the voice of the cognizant mind. Special attention in the book is given to the philosophy of language of the most interesting Russian theorist A. A. Potebnia (1835-1891). In the concluding part are analyzed the opinions of Russian “Silver Age” philosophers Sergei Bulgakov, Pavel Florenskii and Aleksei Losev, their ontological doctrine of the Name, conception of the Name as the incarnate essence of being.
