This is an artistic biography of Mikhail Bulgakov(1891-1940) focused mostly on his evolution as a great Russian novel writer. The life and works of Mikhail Bulgakov became associated with the powerful people of the new communist regime: the chief-censor of soviet literature Joseph Stalin, Lenin, Gor`kii, Trotskii, and the chief of the NKVD Genrikh Iagoda.
