This is the two volume publication of the Manuscript Department of the scientific library of St. Petersburg University and the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinskii Dom). The first volume, Ocherk Istorii Formirovaniia Pinezhskoi Knizhno-Rukopisnoi Traditsii. Opisanie Rukopisnykh Istochnikov [ Essay on the history of forming the tradition of hand-copying books: description of handwritten sources], includes an essay on the history of the formation of the tradition of hand copying books (pp. 3-61) as well as descriptions of 776 handwritten sources and old printed books from the Pinega collection. The second volume, Opisanie Staropechatnykh Izdanii XV - Nachalo. XX Veka [Description of old printed books of the 15th - early 20th centuries], contains descriptions of old printed books of the 15th-20th centuries and an index to both volumes.
