This is the first complex effort to represent social and political processes in the city of Leningrad (St. Petersburg) in the period called Perestroika. The collection consists of two parts. Part one includes the chronicle of the city social and political life against a background of the political life of Russia. Part two includes 60 interviews with and memoirs of active figures of that period and leaders of social movements. The book includes more than 100 photographs.
