It is also about the search for Russian identity and the future of Russia. The author shows that Russian nationalism has never been a conservative movement but rather was a radical, subversive and even revolutionary one. They also state that the modern Russian national movement is rather a human rights and civil movement that could potentially bring the impulse to the modernization of Russia.
