This monograph studies the phenomenon known as the "Russian Renascence" when a group of visionary utopians conceived the idea of changing life. Their philosophy, a mixture of religious idealism and a decadent ethos, is called "decadent utopianism" by the author. This disposition was fully expressed in the creative and life experience of V.
