Il`ia Il`f (Il. Fainzil`berg) (1897-1937) became a classic of Russian literature for his dialogy written with I. Petrov "Twelve Chairs" and "The Golden Calf". The first complete publication of the notes Il`f took during the last twelve years of his life was published in 2000 (also available). They included his aphorisms, travel diaries, drafts, poetry, and approximately a hundred previously unknown drawings. The current edition reprints the first one with some cuts in travel notes and American diaries (Odnoetazhnaia Amerika) and keeps all fiction works. The book is collected and commented by his daughter Aleksandra Il`f.
