This monograph focuses on the evolution of the less studied early Byzantine historiography of the Church (4-6th centuries), represented by five Orthodox historians: Eusebius of Caesarea, Socrates Scholasticus, Sozomen, Theodorus Lector and Evagrius Scholasticus.
