Elena Samodelova chose a new approach to the Esenin`s poetry: she analyzes the figure of this poet through his life and artistic manifestations. The monograph shows how Esenin became a "cult figure" and his life was turned into folklore, or became an object of folklorization. Many of his works were used as material for folklore alterations and stylizations.
