Among the novels included in analysis are: Doktor Zhivago by B. Pasternak, Kolymskie Rasskazy by V. Shalamov, Matrenin Dvor and Bodalsia Telenok s Dubom by A. Solzhenisyn, Dilogia by Iu. Dombrovskii, several works of A. Bitov. The author shows that there is a trend of idealization of the auto-psychological main character: repentance and confession turns to self-justification and self-apology in all of these works.
