This book is a memoir of the administrator of the Moscow House of Theater Actors but it would be more correct to say of the genius and spirit of this place - Margarita Eskina. This role and mission she inherited from her father Aleksandr Eskin who started to organize public appearances of the best Russian actors and helped to form the actors community around the House. The performances (skits) actors created for themselves in their House, free from censorship and a preapproved scenario, became widely popular in Moscow. This book is about the traditions of the House which were continued and taken further by Margarita Eskina. Lavishly illustrated.
