This is the fifteenth volume of the series Odysseus which publishes the most recent Russian studies in ancient, medieval and modern history. It was started in 1989. Within the framework of an interdisciplinary project this volume embarks on a new discussion to maintain the dialog between specialists in social history and the history of art. The first chapter deals with Chivalry as a unique phenomenon, its games and ethics, its variations in different countries, including Russia.
