Annals of George the Monk published in this book is based on the oldest version (Troitsk or Tver, ealy 14th century). The manuscript contained only a part of the Annals: the chronicle ends in year 553. The first part of the first volume includes an interpreted text of the manuscript in Old Russian with additions from the Greek parallel text which restore the lost or damaged parts of the manuscript. The second part is a textological commentary. 127 miniatures. Volume two will include a Russian translation, historico-philological commentary and some reference materials.
